The cream of Cuban music competes for the Cubadisco 2011 Awards
For Cuban people, dancers by nature, the most anticipated part of the entire Cubadisco event is the “Danceable popular music” category, especially in this year where such undisputed masters of the genre compete for the award: Adalberto Álvarez y su son (album “El son de altura”), Manolito Simonet (album “Trabuco una vez más”),  Lázaro Valdés y Bamboleo (album “¿Quién manda?”) and  Elio Revé y su Charangón with the acclaimed “¿De qué estamos hablando?”.

Adalberto Álvarez has collected 6 nominations with the albums “Que suene el son caballero” and  “El son de altura”.
The nominees list in other categories is enhanced by some great names, like maestro Frank Fernandez and his Antology “Novia mia”, guitar player Jorge Luis Valdes Chicoy with the album “Full Time”, and director, sax player, arranger and vocalist of the Habana Ensemble group César López, with the album “Contrastes”.
In the “Canción” category stands out the singer-songwriter Amaury Pérez and his album “Bardo”.
The acclaimed group Buena Fe, together with the troubadour Frank Delgado, are contenders for the “Trova-Fusión” award with the album “Extremistas nobles”.
