Cuban musicians among the 2015 Latin Grammy nominees!

The list of nominees for the Latin Grammy Awards 2015 is still a lovely surprise for many Cuban Artists and Orchestras. The list, which includes some renowned names such as Juan Luis Guerra and Alejandro Sanz, sees the Cuban Alain Pérez with his album El alma del son Tributo a Matamoros. Alain, who during his long career happened to work as a producer of artists like Celia Cruz, Paco de Lucia y Isaac Delgado, has managed to place his Album in one prestigious category, following the success of “Hablando con Juana” (which is available at Cubamusic.com thanks to the record label Bis Music).

Born in Cuba in 1977 (Villa Clara) established himself as tasteful bassist, singer, songwriter, arranger and music producer. At 11 started his studies at the Cienfuegos Conservatory and then settled down in Havana, where he graduated as bass and guitar player and choral director in 1993. At that time, he lived the process of actualization of modern Cuban salsa, thereafter known as Timba! Now, at the Latin Grammy, he has been rewarded with the Best Tropical Traditional Album Nominee, together with Septeto Santiaguero.

With 47 awards to be won, the 16th Latin Grammy Awards ceremony will be held next November 19 at Grand Garden Arena Hotel, Las Vegas (Usa). In that occasion, the great Cuban singer-songwriter Pablo Milanés will be awarded with the Honoray Prize for Music Excellence. Another great prestige for 2015 Cuban music!! Pablo Milanés recently released the song and videoclip featuring Leoni Torres “Para que un dia vuelvas”, an immediate success!!
