Carlos Embale (Que Bueno Canta Embale)

Carlos Embale (1923 " 1998) is an emblematic celebrity of the Cuban popular music associated with the movement of fabulous soneros from the 1950s.
Since then, he came to be one of the leading interpreters of the rumba, the son and the bolero and became a matchless phenomenon due to his powerful and melodic voice characterized by a rhythmic tempo.
He performed with a number of musical groups such as the Fantasía orchestra and "Los Roncos" guaguancó choir.  He also worked with many important musicians until 1946 when he replaced the famous Benny Moré in the Matamoros ensemble.
In 1956, Francisco Repilado established his own group, known as "Compay Segundo y sus Muchachos", having Carlos Embale and Pío Leyva as its singers.
Carlos Embale became the leading vocalist of the Septeto Nacional Ignacio Piñeiro (the National Septet), the emblematic group of Cuban music which has preserved the son nature, and with this group he interpreted a broad repertoire covering a wide range of Cuban musical genres.
His interpretation of the rumba is remarkable for his voice establishes a praiseworthy dialogue with the percussion instruments and his interpretations turn into authentic expressions of popular creation.  In his voice, the boleros, sones and guarachas have left indelible prints in music.  Thus, his name is always associated with the life and success of the Septeto Nacional. History has already recorded songs such as "Llora como lloré", "Amor de loca juventud", "La mujer de Antonio, "En el tiempo de la Colonia", "Suavecito", "Esas no son cubanas" and many other songs that turned Carlos Embale into both a unique phenomenon and a milestone of Cuban popular music.
