  Septeto Ignacio Piñeiro Biography :

The Ignacio Piñeiro National Septet is the most genuine son group in Cuba. It was founded in 1927 by the renowned Cuban musician Ignacio Piñeiro (1888-1969).
Ignacio Piñeiro is a very important artist in Cuban popular music, a fertile author whose work includes the most diverse genders such as guaguancó, rumba and bolero. Likewise, the son songs Suavecito, ¿Dónde andabas Anchoa" and Mañana te espero, Niña, are among his best known compositions.
Since the creation of the Septet, many famous singers such as Abelardo Barroso and Miguelito Valdés have been part of it, as well as musicians like Rafael Ortiz "Mañungo" and Alberto Villalón, considered excellent authors like Piñeiro himself.
The National Septet, representing Cuba in 1929 at the Sevilla Exhibition, was awarded a Gold Medal and Diploma.
In 1953, singer Carlos Embale joins the Septet, with performances considered as real treasures of the Cuban music.
The current composition of the Septet unites talent with the mastery of experienced musicians like Ignacio Aymé, its present Director, and Eugenio Rodríguez "Raspa", its main singer.  The National Septet has been highly appreciated by the critics and public throughout the world, having performed in England, Canada, Algeria, Panama, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia and Spain, among others countries.
