The Voces Modernas (Modern Voices) trio was founded in Santa Clara City in 1968. Since then, this trio has developed a very special work in the dissemination of Cuban traditional music.
The trio is constantly renewed and sets interesting guidelines based on a first-category harmonic work that has placed it among the main groups of this kind through a repertory that includes sones, guarachas, cha cha cha and boleros with an impeccable making, as well as other Latin American and international genders.
In 1996, the trio participated, together with the most important Cuban trios, in the recording of "Tríos de La Habana" with the aim of allowing music lovers to rediscover the potential of this instrumental format which is indispensable for the Cuban music. In this record, Voces Modernas brilliantly performs the well-known "Mata Siguaraya" and makes a classical version of the song "Te espero en la eternidad" by Master Adolfo Guzmán.
The trio has performed in important sc
enarios and prestigious night centers in Cuba, especially at the celebrated "Bodeguita del Medio". At international level, the trio has received commendable comments in countries like Russia, Rumania, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Jamaica, Angola and Japan.
With an experience of more than thirty five years, Voces Modernas still enjoys a well-deserved prestige.
