The Raisón Group was founded in Havana at the beginning of the 1980s, last century, as a result of the long-standing passion felt by the two brothers Efraín and Luis Ríos for Cuban music roots.
Luis Emilio Ríos, singer, guitar player, tres player, composer and arranger, is well-known at international level for his hit entitled "Que manera de quererte, que manera", included in the repertoire of important Spanish American singers. Efraín Ríos is a prominent tres player and a true expert of that musical instrument, as well as a prestigious composer, arranger and vocalist.
The Ríos Brothers have been included among the most popular contemporary musicians devoted to the preservation of tradition due to the great efforts they have made to revive old-time classics. Undoubtedly, this has been the key for Raisón´s success.
The repertoire displayed by this group, under a septet format, has not only included pieces composed by th
e Ríos Brothers, but also a wide range of themes from Cuban traditional music and authors like Manuel Corona, María Teresa Vera, Miguel Matamoros, Joseíto Fernández, Ignacio Piñeiro and Ñico Saquito, just to mention some of the immortal creators of our music. The son and the guaracha, the guajiras and the boleros from Cuba have been successfully disseminated across the world by Luis, Efraín and their musicians.
Raisón is considered one of the best son-performing groups in Cuba from all times and has paved the way for the emergence of new musical groups with similar interests, format and style who are already promoting the revival of musical tradition among the public. Raisón, simply, has the key to establish communication with good-music consumers.
