The Guitarras Cubanas Trio was founded in Havana in 1978.
In 1996, under the leadership of Carlos López Montaña, and also made up by Manuel Rodríguez and Jorge R. Hurtado, the trio participated in the recording of an important album entitled "Tríos de La Habana" which gathered the best musical groups of this format.
This trio has been characterized by its very interesting harmonic work and modern style though deeply respecting the tradition of Cuban trios.
Innovators par excellence since the very creation of the trio, Guitarras Cubanas has contributed with a new concept of Cubanship which, thanks to efforts made by the trio, has been universally recognized.
