Héctor Téllez was born on August 15, 1945, in Santa Clara, Villa Clara province,. His tessitura reaches the tenor register.
In 1958, he began his artistic career as amateur at the Emisora Radial Tiempo, singing Mexican songs. His first professional performance was at the Venecia Cabaret in Santa Clara. Since then, he joined several trios and a quartet, until 1965 when he integrated the Meme Solís quartet where he became very popular.
In 1970, he restarted his career as soloist, always welcomed by the public and by the critics.
