ANACAONA TOURS CUBA ON ITS 85TH ANNIVERSARY
The Cuban oldest and most famous female band reaches its 85 artistic years this 2017. To celebrate, Anacaona is performing monthly concerts.

The objective is to take the latest of the band to every Cuban corner, and to wrap everything up in a big way, Anacaona is planning a massive concert on November in an iconic corner for Cuban music: Prado and Neptuno. The concert, to take place in the historic district of Havana City, will also honor the 500th anniversary of the foundation of the capital of Cuba.

Anacaona is the Cuban female band per excellence. For more than 80 years, the band members have been exclusively women, who have embraced with expertise and tuning every instrument of son, salsa, and Cuban timba.

Complex percussion and brass instruments were, for many years, considered exclusive of men. However, Anacaona girls really know how to play them.

Currently directed by experienced bassist Georgia Aguirre, the band keeps songs in the preference of dancers, for example, "Llora si te duele" and "No te enamores de mí", among others, all of them available in Cubamusic.com.

The tour by the neighborhoods to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the band will cover all Cuba. In Havana, they will tour, at least, 7 municipalities including: Cerro, Plaza and in this July, Alamar.

Congratulations to Anacaona for its 85 years, a great Cuban band whose music and amazing beauty of its talented timba players make people fully passionate about them.
