EXCEPTIONAL VIDEOCLIP FROM THE REVÉ IN HOMAGE TO CASINO DANCE
Elito Revé y su Charangón joined the Proyecto Rueda de Casino and dance teacher Julio Montero to give birth to “Cuba baila casino (tributo a la rueda)”.
It is the biggest production dedicated to the famous Cuban dance after legendary album “Para bailar casino” (2003) from Adalberto Álvarez y su Son. A project developed under the masterful direction of director Carlos Eduardo Maristany, who started from one single, especially recorded in homage to the popular style of dancing salsa and timba -specifically in its rueda variant- and continued with a remarkable videoclip where everything revolves around the rueda..and it even grows to enormous proportions.
Among the many special features and curiosities of the videoclip, the debut of Ogbeshe, new vocalist of the Revé, as lead voice of a track and videoclip by the orchestra; the exclusiveness of showing Elito Revé himself and his singers dancing casino in a rueda; casting the talent of two young promising talents of Cuban acting, Bárbara Menéndez and Reinier Díaz; throughout the song and videoclip are mentioned many instructors and promoters, in and out of Cuba, of this dance which has spreaded through the whole planet, with an ever-increasing audience.
Not only the videoclip is satisfied of getting the people dance and give a tribute to casino dance in a genuinely Cuban situation, it also invites us to make a further consideration over cultural habits in Cuba, specifically about dancing and music; on that subject, many more rhythms have conquered their space, even foreign ones, but popular Cuban danceable music and casino dance keep being strong in the popular taste, also thanks to artists such as those who defend and make part of this videoclip. From this perspective, "Cuba baila casino (tributo a l Rueda)" make one more grain of sand to spread the most genuine Cuban cultural values.
