Biography

Singer.

Francisco Freeman de las Cuevas was born in Palma Soriano, Santiago de Cuba.

From a very early age he entered the music world as amateur singer until he began performing with the Girón Group.

He joined Master Adalberto Alvarez Orchestra, with which he gained popular acknowledgement and significance through a meteoric career. Together with "Adalberto y su son", he made a number of records, above all the outstanding hit entitled "A bailar el toca toca", and had the opportunity of performing on important stages across the world.

Later on, Coco Freeman joined another great Cuban orchestra, the renowned NG La Banda, led by Master José Luis Cortéz, with whom he produced more hits during his young, though fruitful, musical life.

In the year 2001, he began his career as soloist.

Coco Freeman has participated, as special guest star, in many recording productions, namely, "El bárbaro del ritmo", b y the BIS Music label as a tribute to Benny Moré, as well as other productions as soloist like the CD entitled "No voy a negarlo" edited under the EGREM label.

He has also performed together with figures of the stature of Pablo Milanés, Teresa García Caturla, Aramis Galindo, Jorge Luis Rojas and many others.

With his privileged voice, Coco Freeman has remarkably traveled across the salsa, the son and the guaracha, attaining his climax with unforgettable boleros.
