Biography

Singer and choral director.

Mayté Chile was born in Havana, on July 7, 1977. She began her musical studies at the "Manuel Saumell" Elementary School of Music in Havana, specialised on Basic Piano. Later on she studied Choral Direction at the same School, obtaining several awards and acknowledgements at municipal and provincial level in piano and choirs contests.

Her first middle-higher education studies on song began at the National School of Art (ENA) and were concluded in 1997 at the "Amadeo Roldán" Conservatory where she graduated as Singing Teacher and Choral Direction..

Mayté Chile´s first professional experience was with the "Ricachá" female orchestra. Afterwards, she participated in the recording of "Bachata en colores" by Cuban musician Joel David, made in the Dominican Republic and produced by Víctor Víctor. Later on she joined Joel David's group and travelled to Chile, where she stayed for more than three years. There , she created her own group called "Azúcar Miel", and made presentations on television programs. Likewise, she toured across the country teaching in different Chilean conservatories.

Mayté Chile has currently a successful career in the Dominican Republic and in Cuba, her native country.
