Biographie

Hip-hop.

This group was created in 1998. In 2002 they took the name Ogguere, a Yoruba term that means fertile ground or positive soul.

Their songs are a reflex of urban life but with a strong injection of Cuban reality. Their inspiration comes from Black Eye Peas, Whitcleef Jean, Outkast and 1970s funk without losing any of the Afro Cuban rhythms of Irakere or Los Van Van.

Their album El Alma de la Tierra (The Earth's Soul) made them increase the respect of the top names in Cuban and international music. Chucho Valdés admires them and many others have collaborated with Ogguere, like Ruy López Nussa (drums), Ernesto Blanco (guitar), the singers Mayra Caridad Valdés, Diana Fuente and Haydée Milanés, Robertón of Los Van Van and many others.

Their CD Llena de amor el mambo was nominated for Best Rap/ Dance/ Hip Hop/ Reggaeton album and Opera Prima at Cubadisco 2008.
