Anaís Abreu

Biographie

Singer.
A vocalist of remarkable tessitura, a true intuitive and naturally talented artist. Her singing, based on theoretical and practical musical studies, began with her grandfather,  Esteban Orta Gutiérrez, a band conductor, and continued with the choir director Guillermo Cortina and the pianist-composer José González Allué, famous for his emblematic song Amorosa Guajira. Besides a rich experience as a piano teacher, Anaís Abreu continued her piano performances and choral practice as part of the Chamber Choir, directed by Agnes Kratoski, and graduated as Choral director under the guidance of professor Dulce María Rodríguez. She immediately joined the renowned Coro Nacional de Cuba (National Choir of Cuba), directed by professor Digna Guerra, and as its member, Anaís made her first international tours. Her sound musical formation gave the future soloist a deep understanding,  independence and tuning of the melodic line in relation with the orchestral and vocal pol yphony, and the ability to select a refined repertoire as an interpreter of popular music.
In 1983, in a popular TV program, Anaís Abreu sang the tango song Nostalgia, by Enrique Cadicamo and Juan Carlos Cobián in a bolero version. This successful performance really marked the beginning of her artistic career as a professional soloist.
Her voice is recorded in different discographic productions for Cuban and foreign recording labels: Rumor, Lujo, Conector, Caribe Productions, EGREM and BIS Music.
